Three-Tier Jewellery Boxes

This is a batch of four different three-tier jewellery boxes made from only Australian timbers. Each box has two removable trays, one with adjustable partitions and the other with a velvet ring holder. The base of these jewellery boxes also has removable partitions. The hinges are solid brass and the boxes have small leather pads on their underneath so as to not scratch the surface they’re placed on.

The joinery on these jewellery boxes is a mitred construction with mitre keys to strengthen the joints, and the trays are dovetailed. The lid, base, and bases of each tray are veneered panels to limit wood movement, but in the lid’s case it’s mostly to make use of some stunning veneers which would be difficult to source as solid timber and unstable to work with.

A lot of work goes into these boxes – it took me a few weeks to complete them.
